Audi upgrades the R8 LMS GT3 for 2019

Audi Sport has unveiled an enhanced version of the R8 LMS GT3.

Various changes focussed on reducing operating costs for customer race teams and improving durability. Furthermore, the cooling system and aerodynamics received attention too.

The 2019 R8 LMS GT3 is priced at €398,000 (excluding VAT), which equates to approximately £353,200 or US$458,300 at current exchange rates. Deliveries are due to begin next month.

Owners of the previous model can modify their cars to the latest specification courtesy of an evolution kit. It costs €28,000 plus VAT (£24,800 / US$32,200).

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
