Bentley EXP 100 GT concept unveiled

Long, low proportions, scissor doors and a glazed roof certainly give the EXP 100 GT a dramatic appearance. As well as offering a glimpse of what a future luxury coupé might look like, this new concept showcases ideas for an innovative pure-electric powertrain.

Four separate motors are fitted. Together they produce 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb/ft), which is delivered via a torque vectoring system. Combined with a kerb weight of 1,900 kg (4,188 lbs), the result is a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of 2.5 seconds and a 186 mph (300 km/h) top speed.

With regards to every electric vehicle’s main bugbear – the batteries – Bentley has apparently just made up some numbers: the non-stop range range is 435 miles (700 kilometres) and recharging to 80 percent capacity takes a mere fifteen minutes. To be fair, such specifications are aspirational, and they anticipate significant technological improvements over the coming decades.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the EXP 100 GT also has autonomous driving capabilities. Another key feature is the Bentley Personal Assistant, which uses biometric sensors and artificial intelligence to change the atmosphere inside the car.
