Porsche 911 ‘Project 50’ race car

Porsche Cars GB is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 911 by entering one in selected Masters Series races across Europe.

The car chosen for the ‘Project 50’ campaign is a right-hand drive, short-wheelbase 911 that was built in 1965. Power comes from a 1,991 cc six-cylinder boxer engine with an output of 128 bhp (95 kW / 130 PS), a very modest figure compared to any current 911.

Originally sold to a customer in Italy, the ‘Project 50’ 911 then went to the United States before eventually coming to Britain in the late 1990s. Once here, a full restoration took place and it was converted into a race car.
