2015 North American-spec Chevrolet Colorado

The new Chevrolet Colorado midsize pick-up for North America might appear similar to the version already produced in Asia, but it has some unique features.

Most obvious are the redesigned nose and squared-off wheel arches, while perhaps harder to spot is the taller cargo box that incorporates a two-tier loading system. Combined, those three elements give the Colorado a bolder, more handsome look.

The engines are different too, with the focus naturally being on petrol power. A 193 bhp (144 kW / 195 PS) 2.5 litre four-cylinder unit comes as standard and a 302 bhp (225 kW / 306 PS) 3.6 litre V6 will be on the options list. However, in a major development, a 2.8 litre Duramax turbodiesel is going to join the line-up for the 2016 model year.

Sales of the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado are scheduled to begin late next year, when buyers will have a choice of extended cab / 6’ cargo bed, crew cab / 5’ cargo bed or crew cab / 6’ cargo bed configurations. WT, LT and Z71 trim grades - all with either rear- or all-wheel drive set-ups - are being offered from launch.
