Two Scion iA customs created for SEMA 2015
Scion asked a couple of its ‘lifestyle partners’ to modify the recently-launched iA sedan… and the results are certainly strange.
The first, designed by Skybound Entertainment, is inspired by Robert Kirkman’s Outcast comic book.
An orange, black and green colour scheme doesn’t look particularly different. However, this iA’s smoke, light and audio effects (plus various pneumatically-controlled moving components) are all intended to generate an illusion of demonic possession.
The second customised iA was conceived by Eddie Huang, who wrote ‘Fresh Off The Boat’. Apparently, it’s a tribute to “L.A. culture with a modern take on the classic lowrider”.
A two-tone metallic yellow and ‘root beer’ paintjob and a ‘human panda’ bonnet graphic are just the start. They’re joined by gold wire wheels, whitewall tyres and a unique gold-plated front grille.
Inside, swivelling front seats and a chain-link steering wheel complete the weirdness.
Both cars will be part of Scion’s presence at the upcoming Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas.
