2017 Kia Rio first view

Kia has released some images of the fourth-generation Rio, ahead of its public debut at the Paris Motor Show later this month.

The styling of this all-new supermini is a collaboration between studios in Korea, Germany and the United States. As is often the case when a design tries to appeal to many disparate markets, the end result is rather bland.

Nevertheless, 2017's Rio is slightly longer, lower and wider than the previous version, which has helped to enhance the proportions. The most arresting visual element is undoubtedly a more purposeful-looking front grille and headlights arrangement.

Inside, the highlight is a revamped dashboard that now features a centrally-mounted touchscreen to control the car's infotainment functions.

UK deliveries are expected to begin at the end of the year, but detailed specifications and prices have yet to be announced.
