The Marco Polo Horizon is all about flexibility

Mercedes-Benz has added a third model to its Marco Polo range. The newcomer, named Horizon, is a cross between a camper van and a people carrier.

Like the existing Marco Polo and Marco Polo Activity, Horizon comes with an elevating roof that accommodates a two-berth bed. Curtains for night-time privacy are also fitted, but there aren't any built-in kitchen facilities.

However, this variant – which is based on the V-Class – does boast flexible seating arrangements.

To complement a pair of swivelling front chairs, the rear features as standard a three-person bench. It converts into a 1.93 m x 1.35 m (6’ 4” x 4’ 5”) triple bed, meaning the compact Horizon can provide sleeping space for up to five (presumably very friendly) people.

If extra passengers need a ride, then a couple of optional individual seats can be slotted in to create a middle row. For an alternative layout, customers can specify four individual seats split across rows two and three instead.

In Germany, prices for the Marco Polo Horizon start at €52,051 (including 19% VAT).
