MG ZS renamed XS for the UK
MG now has a second SUV in its range. The compact XS, which is known as the ZS in China, will arrive at UK dealers towards the end of this year.
Final specifications haven’t been revealed, but MG is promising “state-of-the-art driver technology” and “highly-affordable” pricing.
Buyers of the front-wheel drive XS are set to have a choice of two petrol engines that can be combined with either manual or automatic transmissions.
Likewise, full powertrain details have yet to be confirmed. However, if the Chinese-specification ZS is a good indication, then the line-up should comprise four-cylinder, 1.5 litre and three-cylinder, 1.0 litre units. The former produces 118 bhp (88 kW / 120 PS), while a turbocharger means the latter boasts 123 bhp (92 kW / 125 PS).
