MG X-motion concept revealed in Beijing
Once renowned as a manufacturer of quintessentially English sports cars, MG now focusses on supplying Chinese-made budget SUVs. The past two decades have seen the brand undergo a huge transition that few would have accurately predicted.
Underscoring the change in direction is the new X-motion concept. Just unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, it’s being described as a future large ‘Range Captain’ by MG.
Actually, the styling – which follows the marque’s latest Emotional Dynamism design language – is very attractive. A rather long bonnet suggests that packaging might not be great, though.
At this stage details about a production model are scant. However, a pure-electric version is already confirmed, plus customers will have a choice of two- or four-wheel drive configurations.
According to MG, availability in the UK has yet to be decided.
