Nissan creates the Ariya Concept

Nissan has unveiled its Ariya Concept at the Tokyo Motor Show. Measuring 4,600 mm (181.1”) long and 1,920 mm (75.6”) wide, this pure-electric crossover is slightly larger than the current Qashqai.

Key styling features include a ‘V-motion shield’ instead of a traditional grille, huge 21” wheels, a high waistline and a gently sloping rear screen.

For the cabin, the focus has been on providing a spacious and upmarket environment. Helping to achieve those objectives is a new vehicle architecture which incorporates a completely flat floor and a generous wheelbase. A minimalist dashboard and thin frames for the leather-covered seats further add to the airy ambience.

Nissan is saying that a production version of the Ariya Concept could appear in the near future.

However, very few technical details are known at this stage. Twin electric motors and all-wheel drive have already been confirmed, but important figures such as anticipated output, battery capacity, recharging times and driving range remain undisclosed.
