BMW unveils the electric iX M60

A 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of 3.8 seconds and an electronically-limited 155 mph (250 km/h) top speed demonstrate that the new iX M60 isn’t lacking in performance potential.

This sporty version of BMW’s pure-electric, all-wheel drive, mid-size SUV boasts a combined output of 619 PS (610 bhp / 455 kW) from its two motors. Peak torque is rated at 1,015 Nm (748 lb-ft), or 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) when the launch control system is activated.

Estimated maximum range on the WLTP test cycle is a decent 352 miles (566 kilometres), but recharging times have yet to be confirmed.

A key element of the specification is a modified chassis. As well as recalibrated self-levelling air suspension, the revised set-up includes actuator-based wheel slip limitation which should help with traction.

In the UK, on-the-road prices for the iX M60 start at £111,905. Deliveries will begin in the summer.
