Nissan ‘Seaside by Dethleffs’ camper unveiled
Nissan and conversion specialists Dethleffs have collaborated to create the Seaside camper, which is based on the Primastar panel van.
Inside, the layout is fairly typical of this sort of vehicle. For instance, there’s a side-mounted kitchenette that incorporates a 36-litre refrigerator, a two-burner gas hob, and plenty of cupboard space.
The seating arrangement in the rear section is somewhat different to the norm, though. Instead of a single bench, four moveable (and removable) individual chairs are installed on a rail system. They’re complemented by a pair of swivelling cab seats.
Sleeping accommodation comprises four berths. Two of them are on a double bed in the main habitation area, while the others are situated ‘upstairs’ within the elevating roof.
A 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine powers the Primastar. Customers can opt for an output of either 150 PS (148 bhp / 110 kW) or 170 PS (167 bhp / 125 kW) and, for a more relaxing drive, a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is available as an alternative to the usual manual gearbox.
The ‘Seaside by Dethleffs’ is being offered in selected European markets, but at the moment the list of applicable countries doesn’t seem to include the UK.
