Two Jeep Cherokee concepts for Moab 2014

In addition to a trio of Wrangler concepts, Jeep and Mopar together have prepared two Cherokee specials for this year’s Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah.

The Cherokee Adventurer looks almost showroom-ready. Based on the Trailhawk trim grade, it rides on unique 17” two-tone wheels equipped with BFGoodrich All-Terrain tyres. Improved off-road capability is promised by front-mounted tow hooks and skid plates for the oil tank, fuel tank, suspension and underbody.

Undoubtedly the Adventurer’s most unusual feature is a ‘roof basket’. Finished in matte black, it’s basically a fancy roof rack that uses a bungee net to secure cargo.

Much more radical is the Cherokee Dakar. Riveted wheel arch extensions accommodate 33” BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tyres, while a suspension lift and prototype bumpers allow for approach and departure angles of 32° and 39° respectively. Also fitted are rock rails and numerous skid plates.

On the inside, the Cherokee Dakar has leather upholstery, a cargo tray, all-weather floor mats and doorsill guards.

The 2014 Easter Jeep Safari begins on the 12th of April and lasts for eight days.
