Audi RS 7 Sportback updated for 2015

A subtly revised RS 7 Sportback has been revealed by Audi. Due to arrive in dealers towards the end of this year, it features both cosmetic and technical changes.

Many might struggle to spot the exterior tweaks though, because they’re limited to new standard-fit LED headlights, restyled taillight clusters and a slightly altered front bumper.

Interior upgrades meanwhile are focussed on the dashboard. The latest version of the MMI infotainment and navigation system is installed, there are different air vents and the shift paddles for the eight-speed Tiptronic transmission have been redesigned.

Power continues to be provided by a 4.0 litre biturbo V8 engine producing 552 bhp (412 kW / 560 PS) with 700 Nm (516 lb/ft) of torque. Unsurprisingly performance remains the same, so the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint still takes just 3.9 seconds.

However, it’s now EU6-compliant and a little more efficient. Consequently combined cycle economy has improved from 28.8 mpg (9.8 l/100km) to 29.7 mpg (9.5 l/100km), plus carbon dioxide emissions are down from 229 g/km to 221 g/km.

A price for the 2015 RS 7 has yet to be confirmed, but a significant increase over the £83,515 that Audi charges for the current version isn’t expected.
