Right-hand drive Mustang first view

When global sales of the new Ford Mustang begin in 2015, a right-hand drive version will be available straight from the factory for the first time.

That means that customers in the UK, Australia and around 25 other markets won’t suffer the inconvenience of having the steering wheel on the ‘wrong’ side of their cars. Ford has just completed assembly of its first right-hand drive prototype, which is going to be used for further development work.

In the United States, deliveries of the 2015 Mustang are due to commence this autumn. There, the engine range will consist of a 300 bhp (223 kW / 304 PS) 3.7 litre V6, a 310 bhp (231 kW / 314 PS) turbocharged 2.3 litre EcoBoost four-cylinder and a 435 bhp (324 kW / 441 PS) 5.0 litre V8. Europe is getting just two options though, as there are no plans to offer the V6 motor here.
