Like the RM14 and RM15 previously, the new RM16 concept is intended to build awareness of Hyundai's nascent 'N' performance sub-brand.

RM16, which has been revealed at the Busan International Motor Show in South Korea, is built around a lightweight aluminium spaceframe with carbon fibre reinforced plastic body panels. Among the components contributing to aerodynamic downforce and stability is an automatically-adjustable rear spoiler.

'RM' stands for Racing Midship, so naturally the concept's 2.0 litre supercharged petrol engine is mid-mounted. Its 295 bhp (220 kW / 300 PS) is delivered via a six-speed manual transmission and an electronic limited-slip differential.
