Opel creates the O-Team Zafira Life concept
Opel Special Vehicles took inspiration from The A-Team for its latest project. The O-Team Zafira Life – which is based on the ‘Medium’ production model – pays homage to the custom GMC van that appeared in the TV show.
As well as a white, neon yellow and dark blue colour scheme, the exterior features a front nudge bar, extended side sills, window decals and a bespoke roof spoiler. 20” BBS lightweight alloy wheels, Michelin Cup 2 tyres, better brakes and adjustable air suspension are part of the specification, too.
Inside, the front seats are taken from the Insignia GSi, while the second and third rows each have a pair of rotating captain’s chairs. Leather and Alcantara upholstery further adds to the special ambiance.
Thanks to a deceptive sound module, bystanders might be fooled into thinking that a V8 petrol engine is fitted. In fact, power comes from a 2.0 litre diesel unit, which sends 174 bhp (130 kW / 177 PS) and 400 Nm (295 lb/ft) to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The O-Team Zafira Life is a one-off for now. However, because all of the components have been approved by TÃœV, some replicas could easily follow.
