Citroën reveals the new electric ë-Berlingo
Apart from some cosmetic differences, the ë-Berlingo pure-electric MPV is virtually the same as the Vauxhall / Opel Combo-e Life that was unveiled earlier this month.
Therefore, both Medium and XL variants will be offered which have overall lengths of 4.40 m (14’ 5”) and 4.75 m (15’ 7”) respectively. Up to seven seats can be specified.
The electric motor’s output depends on the driving mode selected:
With an under-floor 50 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a two-mode regenerative braking system, maximum range according to the WLTP method is 174 miles (280 kilometres). It’s adequate but not outstanding, in other words.
A 7.4 kW single-phase on-board charger is fitted as standard, while an 11.0 kW three-phase alternative is going to be optional. More significantly, 100 kW DC fast charging is supported, so a recharge to 80 percent capacity is possible in just half an hour.
The new ë-Berlingo is due to arrive at Citroën dealers in the UK during the fourth quarter of 2021. Prices have yet to be announced.

The electric motor’s output depends on the driving mode selected:
- ‘Eco’ minimises energy consumption by restricting power to 81 PS (80 bhp / 60 kW) and torque to 180 Nm (132 lb-ft)
- ‘Normal’ increases those figures to a mid-level setting of 108 PS (107 bhp / 80 kW) and 210 Nm (154 lb-ft)
- ‘Power’ permits better performance by allowing access to the full 136 PS (134 bhp / 100 kW) and 260 Nm (191 lb-ft)
