Electric Combo-e Life people carrier launched

Following last month’s reveal of the pure-electric Combo-e van, Vauxhall and Opel have unveiled the Combo-e Life. This fully-glazed passenger-carrying version is aimed at both families and business users.

Customers will have a choice of five-seat Medium, seven-seat Medium or seven-seat XL configurations. The Medium models are 4.40 m (14’ 5”) long with up to 597 litres of boot space, while the XL increases those measurements to 4.75 m (15’ 7”) and 850 litres.

Unsurprisingly, the Combo-e Life features the same powertrain that’s fitted to the Combo-e. It comprises an under-floor 50 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, an electric motor and a two-mode regenerative braking system. With 136 PS (134 bhp / 100 kW) and 260 Nm (191 lb-ft) of torque, the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint is completed in a respectable 11.2 seconds.

According to the WLTP regime, maximum range from a single charge is 174 miles (280 kilometres). Fine for day-to-day journeys, but major trips might require some forward planning.
