If the new Victory Empulse TT looks familiar, that's because it's essentially a slightly modified Brammo Empulse R . Victory might be better known for building cruisers and tourers, but this move into electric motorcycles is simply explained: parent company Polaris bought Brammo in January 2015.

The new bobber-style Victory Gunner mixes a low single seat, 16” cast 24-spoke wheels, a two-tone paintjob and hardly any chrome.

While this year sees the 110th anniversary of Harley-Davidson , 2013 also marks the fifteenth birthday of another American motorcycle brand - Victory. And, to celebrate the occasion, it has launched the 15th Anniversary Cross Country Tour Limited Edition.

The new 2013 Boardwalk from Victory Motorcycles is very much a variation on a theme, and most casual observers might struggle to tell it apart from any of the other existing cruisers in the range. But a closer inspection will reveal some unique features, key among them being huge front and rear fenders that wrap around the wire-spoke wheels and their whitewall tyres. As expected, power comes from the 1,731 cc (106 cubic inch) Freedom V-twin engine. For the Boardwalk, though, it comes covered in chrome plating, as do the ‘beach’ handlebars, exhausts and various other bits of trim. Plenty for the bike’s owner to keep polished, then. Victory is trying to engender a ‘relaxed riding’ vibe for its latest model, and to go with that footboards are included in the specification. Likewise the seat - which has a removable pillion pad - is designed to offer a decent mix of comfort and support. The new 2013 Judge from Victory Motorcycles is part cruiser and part muscle bike, and potentially it could be an interesting alternative to models such as the Harley-Davidson V-Rod. With blacked-out components, five-spoke cast wheels, drag handlebars and a redesigned headlight nacelle, the overall look works pretty well. Colour choice comprises Gloss Black, Sunset Red and Suede Nuclear Sunset (or orange, in other words). Power comes from Victory’s 106 cubic inch (1,731 cc) Freedom V-twin that develops a healthy 153 Nm (113 lb/ft of torque). It has a lot of bulk to lug about though, as the Judge’s dry weight is 300 kg (660 lbs). Prices in the United States start at $13,999, and sales are due to begin in April.
