The Hyundai Santa Cruz isn’t a pick-up truck
According to Hyundai, the upcoming Santa Cruz is a “Sport Adventure Vehicle” which “shatters the SUV and truck segments” – so don’t call it a pick-up…
Hyperbole aside, this brand-new model attempts to combine the two categories, in much the same way that the Subaru Baja did almost twenty years ago.
The Santa Cruz was created by the Hyundai Design North America facility in California. Built on an all-wheel drive platform, the target market is “urban adventure seekers” who probably spend most of their time within towns and cities.
Hyundai is due to unveil the production version on the 15th of April.
