Citroën unveils the diminutive My Ami Cargo
Citroën’s tiny pure-electric Ami will soon be available in van guise. The new My Ami Cargo seems particularly suited to ‘last mile’ deliveries in congested city centres.
Like the car version, it measures just 2.41 metres (7’ 10”) long by 1.39 metres (4’ 6”) wide. However, the passenger seat has been swapped for a seven-part polypropylene cargo module that has a capacity of 260 litres. Up to 140 kg (308 lb) of goods can be carried.
As well as a vertical partition between the driver and load space, other special features include a removable secondary shelf unit, an adjustable floor and secure storage for small items.
The powertrain – which comprises a 5.5 kWh battery pack and an 8 PS (8 bhp / 6 kW) electric motor – is unchanged. Maximum range is 47 miles (75 kilometres), while recharging takes three hours via a domestic socket.
Dealers in France are going to begin accepting My Ami Cargo customer orders next month. There, prices start at €6,490 (after deducting a €900 government grant).
Citroën is currently gauging interest levels before deciding whether or not to import the Ami and My Ami Cargo into the UK.
