SsangYong previews its new X200 SUV
SsangYong has published two drawings that depict the brand’s next-generation SUV.
The newcomer – which currently uses the X200 codename – follows SsangYong’s latest ‘Powered by Toughness’ design language. It in turn is based on four principles called ‘Robust Architecture’, ‘Unexpected Delight’, ‘Vibrant Contrast’ and ‘Communion with Nature’.
The result is a striking five-door model with a wide stance, prominent wheel arches, bold linear surfacing and a rather Jeep-like front end. Of course, the production version could end up looking a lot less radical.
No technical details have been released yet, but according to SsangYong the “eco-friendly” powertrains will be a response to “the biggest trend in the automotive industry”. Expect some sort of electrification, in other words.
