Based on a Ford GT Mk. I, the AM GT-1 was built to experiment with lightweight materials. Much of the work done influenced developments that Ford later applied to its factory racing cars.

Naturally, the 2022 model wears a red, gold and white colour scheme inspired by the well-known Alan Mann Racing livery. There are numerous exposed carbon fibre components too, including the front splitter, 20” wheels, side sills, engine louvres and rear diffuser.
