The top ten car brands as rated by BrandZ 2019
WPP and Kantar Millward Brown have completed their annual BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands study. Amazon heads the overall list for 2019, rising from last year’s third spot thanks to an estimated worth of US$315,505 million. Apple remains in the runner-up position, just ahead of Google.
The car brand segment experienced a 7% drop in total value. Such a decrease apparently reflects changing trends in the industry, especially regarding electrification, the ownership versus usage debate, the arrival of new marques and an increasing reliance on demand from non-western markets such as China.
That said, in terms of order the latest top ten league is virtually identical to 2018’s. Toyota, Mercedes-Benz and BMW still hold the first three places, for instance. The rest looks pretty much the same too, although Porsche has replaced Maruti Suzuki.
