Kia begins 2020 with two special editions

Colourful versions of the Picanto city car and Stonic subcompact crossover have been added to Kia’s UK line-up.

The Picanto Zest is recognisable by a Lime Light metallic finish, 15” alloy wheels, front fog lights and rear privacy glass. Inside, the specification includes grey faux leather upholstery, manual air conditioning and six audio speakers. A 7” touchscreen is used for the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible infotainment system, plus it displays output from a reversing camera.

Power comes from the familiar 66 bhp (49 kW / 67 PS) 1.0 litre MPi petrol engine that’s mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Prices start at £12,650 which, in terms of initial outlay, puts the Zest between the existing ‘2’ and ‘3’ trim grades.

Alternatively, the Stonic Maxx features two-tone white and red paintwork, unique 17” graphite alloys, rear privacy glass and a reversing camera. Faux black leather upholstery and satin chrome door handles add a more upmarket feel to the interior.

A turbocharged 1.0 litre T-GDi petrol unit sends 118 bhp (88 kW / 120 PS) to the front wheels. This model costs £19,055 with a six-speed manual transmission, or £20,055 if a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is chosen instead.
