2020 Kia K5 / Optima first view
Kia has released some exterior images of its all-new K5, a D-segment car that’ll be known as the Optima in virtually every market outside of Korea.
The fastback design incorporates Kia’s ‘Tiger Nose Evolution’ styling at the front. A shallow grille – which is apparently modelled on the texture of shark skin – merges seamlessly into the headlamps, while ‘Heartbeat’ daytime running lights add some extra visual interest.
Along the flanks, widened wheel arches help to create a purposeful appearance. Another eye-catching element is a continuous chrome trim piece that links the tops of the side windows with the base of the rear screen.
Technical specifications and launch dates for Europe have yet to be announced.
