Basecamp accessories for the Volkswagen Atlas
At last year’s New York International Auto Show, Volkswagen displayed the Atlas Basecamp Concept. Now, some of the components seen on that unique adventure vehicle have evolved into a new accessory range.
One of the main items is a body kit produced by Air Design. Comprising bumper guards, wheel arch extensions, sill panels and special badges, it should provide a limited degree of extra protection when traversing rough ground (or, more likely, negotiating a supermarket car park).
For any Atlas owners intending to drive off-road, the Basecamp collection also includes 17” Fifteen52 Traverse MX wheels. They’re offered with either a frosted graphite or a radiant silver finish and, sensibly, Volkswagen recommends that 245/70R17 all-terrain tyres are fitted to them.
The accessories will soon be available to buy across North America.
