Vauxhall launches the Vivaro Elite Campervan
Vauxhall’s new Vivaro Elite Campervan is essentially the same as the Toyota Proace Lerina, which first appeared in early 2018. That’s hardly surprising, because the Vivaro and Proace are virtually identical vehicles, and both conversions are the work of Barnsley-based Wellhouse Leisure.
Consequently, the Campervan’s interior layout is rather familiar.
As well as offering some storage space, the side-mounted furniture unit houses a kitchenette that incorporates a 25-litre compressor fridge, a gas-fuelled twin-burner hob and a sink. A 2.2 kW heating system, a leisure battery and a 100 W solar panel come as standard, too.
During the day, the sliding rear bench provides a pair of belted travel seats, while at night it transforms into a double bed. If more sleeping accommodation is needed, then an ‘upstairs’ bed within the elevating roof is on the options list.
Sales are due to begin early next year, with prices starting at £46,000. Vauxhall is also planning to introduce a pure-electric Vivaro-e Elite Campervan at a later date.
