Suzuki reveals its new 2021 GSX-S1000
Stacked LED headlights and prominent radiator shrouds are among the styling changes that give the 2021 Suzuki GSX-S1000 a more aggressive look. A larger 19-litre (4.1-gallon) fuel tank is also part of the updated specification.
Comfort should be better, too. There’s a redesigned saddle, plus the handlebars are 23 mm (0.9”) wider and they’re mounted 20 mm (0.8”) closer to the rider.
Thanks to modified electronic throttle bodies, alterations to the air intake, revised valve timing and an additional catalytic converter, the 999 cc four-cylinder engine now complies with Euro 5 emissions standards. Maximum output is 152 PS (150 bhp / 112 kW) at 11,000 rpm, while 106 Nm (78 lb-ft) of peak torque arrives at 9,250 rpm.
Various electronic technologies appear on the GSX-S1000 for the first time, courtesy of an upgraded Suzuki Intelligent Ride System. They include a ride-by-wire throttle, a bi-directional quickshifter for the six-speed gearbox, a three-setting Suzuki Drive Mode Selector, and five-setting traction control.
The new GSX-S1000 is being offered with a choice of Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Triton Blue or Glass Matt Mechanical Grey paintwork.
In the UK, on-the-road prices start at £11,150. Deliveries are due to begin towards the end of June 2021.
