Volkswagen Nivus becomes Taigo for Europe
Volkswagen has launched the Taigo, the brand’s first B-segment SUV coupé.
Unsurprisingly, the five-door, five-seat Taigo uses the same MQB modular platform that underpins the closely-related Polo hatchback and similarly-sized T-Cross SUV. While it’s essentially a Europeanised version of the Nivus (which is already manufactured in Brazil), Taigo production will happen in Spain.
Full specification details have yet to be released. However, every Taigo is going to come with LED headlights, a fully-digital dashboard, numerous safety features, and a TSI petrol engine.
Future small-car buyers visiting their local Volkswagen dealer certainly won’t be able to complain about a lack of choice…
