Hyundai creates the electric Seven concept
Hyundai is calling the new Seven concept an SUEV (sport utility electric vehicle). Unveiled at the AutoMobility LA show in California, it’s based on the same Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) architecture which is used by the similar Kia Concept EV9.
A long wheelbase, a flat floor, coach-style rear doors and an absence of any B pillars have allowed Hyundai’s designers to produce a spacious “premium lounge” interior.
A pair of staggered swivelling chairs are complemented by a curved third-row bench. Anticipating fully-autonomous functionality, the driver’s seat incorporates a retractable joystick controller that replaces a traditional steering wheel and pedals arrangement.
Not much is known about the battery-electric powertrain. However, the target range is over 300 miles (480 kilometres), while 350 kW recharging is supported.
