Vespa S 125 Zaffiro

Vespa has unveiled the Zaffiro limited edition scooter. Based on the existing S 125, only 50 examples are coming to the UK, so most dealers will probably only have one or two in stock.

There’s not too much that’s different from the standard model, but buyers will get exclusive numbered graphics along the bodywork, a special key ring and a card to prove the bike’s authenticity. The only colour option is Azzuro Mediterraneo blue, which is reasonable given that ‘zaffiro’ is Italian for sapphire.

The on the road price of the Vespa S 125 Zaffiro is £3,299. Because of its 125 cc engine capacity, riders in the UK will need to be at least 17 years old, have passed their CBT and display ‘L’ plates to use it.

    If that's the only colour, that's a must-have. Good looking, and you can pretend to be Italian on it, which is, of course, stylish!

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
