2013 Roush Mustangs
Michigan-based tuner Roush has announced its latest performance packages for the Ford Mustang.
Available for both coupĂ© and convertible models, the entry-level Stage 1 conversion spruces up the Mustang’s looks with a Roush Aerobody kit. It includes a three-piece boot lid spoiler, replacement grilles, a bonnet air scoop and chrome exhaust tips.
Stage 2 focuses on the chassis. Body roll is controlled by a larger, stiffer front stabiliser bar, while the handling is improved by the fitment of twin-tube dampers, stiffer springs, upgraded bushes and an anti-hop kit. Completing the alterations are 18” by 10” five-spoke cast aluminium wheels that come shod with specially developed Cooper RS3 tyres.
Extra grunt is provided courtesy of the Stage 3 modifications. Outputs from the 5.0 litre V8 engine are increased from the stock Mustang GT’s 402 bhp (300 kW / 407 PS) and 511 Nm (377 lb/ft) of peak torque to 565 bhp (421 kW / 572 PS) and 684 Nm (505 lb/ft), thanks to a Roush R2300 supercharger that’s based on an Eaton Twin Vortices Series design.
Among the further options available are 20” wheels, various brake upgrades, leather and suede upholstery and rear quarter window louvres.
The 2013 Roush Mustang programme is covered by a three-year / 36,000 mile warranty, and sales are due to begin at the end of this month.
