2013 BTCC calendar

Judging by the provisional dates for the 2013 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, the organisers have quite rightly taken the view that if it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it.

That’s because the number of events, the circuits and the order in which they appear on the schedule are all unchanged.

However, a slight tweaking of dates means that the final round at Brands Hatch will take place a week earlier than this year, a move that should reduce the risk of the day’s third BTCC race being run in twilight.

The good news for those fans unable to get to the circuits is that ITV4 will again be covering the entire season live on television.

Honda WSB team launch

Honda has unveiled its works team for the 2011 World Superbike championship . The announcement of Castrol as title sponsor means the return to a very familiar colour scheme for the pair of CBR1000RR Fireblade bikes, which will be ridden by Jonathan Rea and Ruben Xaus. As in recent years, Honda has entrusted Dutch concern Ten Kate Racing with running the factory WSB team. First thing on the Castrol Honda agenda is a two day testing session at the Motorland Aragón circuit in Spain later this week. The 2011 WSB season comprises thirteen rounds with Phillip Island, Australia hosting the opening race on 27 February.
