2013 FIA WEC calendar
The FIA World Motor Sport Council has agreed a schedule of events for the 2013 World Endurance Championship.
There’s hardly any change from this year’s calendar, and the Le Mans 24 Hours continues to be the highlight. However, the Silverstone race now becomes the season opener, and the venue for the American round has shifted from Sebring to Austin.
The regulations remain largely unaltered too, although various cost-saving measures have been introduced and organisers will be able to adjust the balance of performance between LMP2 class cars. Diesel engines are going to be permitted in the 2013 championship, but equivalency rules should ensure equality between petrol- and diesel-powered entries.
