Dodge Blacktop editions
After a successful debut on the Charger, Dodge is extending the availability of its Blacktop package to the 2013 Avenger, Challenger R/T and Charger R/T models.
Essentially an assortment of cosmetic changes, all of the Blacktop editions come with their grilles and wheels finished in gloss black, as well as body-colour spoilers, darkened headlight bezels and some interior tweaks.
Based on the SXT trim grade, the Avenger Blacktop costs a supplementary $595 in the United States. Additional specification includes 18” alloy wheels, automatic headlights, an electrically-adjustable driver’s seat and automatic temperature control. Buyers will have a choice of five exterior paint colours, while leather upholstery with heated front seats is offered for a further $400.
Setting the Challenger R/T Blacktop apart are its 20” wheels and a matte graphite graphic with red pinstripe borders that runs the length of the car. Priced at $1,995, it also features the Super Track Pak, which comprises Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, monotube dampers, upgraded brake pads and a performance steering system.
The arrival of the V8-powered Charger R/T Blacktop follows the V6 versions that were launched last year. Costing €1,795, the exterior touches are focussed on the 20” alloy wheels, rear spoiler and a 3.06 rear axle, whereas on the inside there’s a ten-speaker Beats Audio music system and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
