2013 Euro COTY winner
The seventh-generation Golf has been named the 2013 European Car of the Year.
In the end it was an emphatic victory, but somewhat inevitable too. The jury, made up of motoring journalists from around Europe, awarded the Volkswagen 29 percent of the available points.
The Subaru BRZ / Toyota GT86 joint entry took the runner-up slot, a well-deserved result. It was by far the most interesting member of an otherwise fairly dull shortlist.
