2014 Yamaha MT-07 revealed
Following the launch of its naked MT-09 back in June, Yamaha has now unveiled the smaller MT-07.
As that name implies, the MT-07 is powered by a 689 cc parallel-twin engine that develops 74 bhp (55 kW / 75 PS) with 68 Nm (50 lb/ft) of torque. By comparison the Kawasaki ER-6n, which is an obvious rival, boasts a very similar 71 bhp (53 kW / 72 PS) and 64 Nm (47 lb/ft).
Based on a steel tubular backbone frame, the MT-07 adopts a distinctive ‘mass forward’ design that gives an upright riding position. Kerb weight with a full fuel tank is 179 kg (395 lbs), while the seat height is 805 mm (31.7”).
Yamaha has yet to announce a UK price for the MT-07, but when sales begin buyers will have five paintwork choices including the Race Blu colour scheme.
