2014 Suzuki Gixxer unveiled in India

The new Gixxer is set to become Suzuki’s flagship motorcycle model for India.

Power comes from a single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled, 150 cc engine that’s fed via a carburettor. It promises best-in-class fuel consumption, thanks partly to the adoption of Suzuki Eco Performance technologies which are meant to minimise the motor’s internal energy losses. However, the economy figures that would support such a claim have yet to be released.

Built around a lightweight frame, the minimalist bodywork includes side panels and a headlight cowl. Included in the Gixxer’s specification are a front disc / rear drum brake set-up, cast wheels, monoshock rear suspension and a very distinctive-looking exhaust.

Suzuki hasn’t announced any pricing details, but sales are due to begin later this year.
