2015 Subaru WRX STI coming to the UK

Following its recent unveiling at the North American International Auto Show, Subaru has decided that the 2015 WRX STI is to be offered in the UK.

The all-new four-door saloon features an all-wheel drive system that’s augmented by an electronically-controlled centre differential. Also fitted is active torque vectoring which works by applying brake pressure to the inside front wheel for more neutral cornering.

Unsurprisingly power is provided by a turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine. Displacing 2,457 cc, it produces 305 bhp (227 kW / 309 PS) with 393 Nm (290 lb/ft) of torque and comes connected to a strengthened six-speed manual gearbox. Performance figures have yet to be released, though.

Thanks to a better exchange rate the WRX STI will cost £28,995 when sales begin this May. On a ‘pound per horsepower’ basis at least, that makes the Subaru good value versus its potential rivals.
