2014 Škoda Octavia Laurin & Klement

Next month’s Geneva International Motor Show will see Škoda unveil the new Octavia Laurin & Klement.

As with previous L&K models, the Octavia version gains some upmarket features. These include brown leather and Alcantara upholstery, an upgraded audio system and a four-spoke steering wheel. Also fitted are bi-xenon headlights, 18” ten-spoke alloy wheels and LED rear light clusters.

The initial engine line-up for the Octavia Laurin & Klement is going to consist of a 177 bhp (132 kW / 180 PS) 1.8 litre TSI petrol and a 148 bhp (110 kW / 150 PS) 2.0 litre TDI diesel, both of which are available with either a manual or automatic dual-clutch transmission. All-wheel drive can be specified too, but (somewhat confusingly) only with the petrol-automatic and diesel-manual combinations.

Later this year they are due to be joined by a more powerful 2.0 litre diesel option that produces 181 bhp (135 kW / 184 PS). It’ll be offered solely with an automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive, though.

UK prices for the Octavia Laurin & Klement have yet to be announced.
