2015 Fiat Ducato facelift revealed
Eight years after the current model was first launched, Fiat Professional is giving its Ducato range a comprehensive update.
The most obvious change is the neat front-end facelift. However the interior, which comes in a choice of Classic or Techno trim grades, has also received attention. It now features more comfortable seats, a Multifunction Tablet Holder, Bluetooth and MP3 playback capability as standard across the line-up. Some versions even have satellite navigation, a 5” touch screen and a reversing camera.
There are plenty of driver aids too. For example, the new Ducato boasts a rollover mitigation system that works in conjunction with the electronic stability control and a Load and Centre of Gravity Detection device. Furthermore, the specification includes hill hold, electronic braking assistance and anti-slip control. Hill descent, road sign recognition and lane departure warning systems are all on the options list.
Van users are going to be able to choose from three body heights and four lengths that offer a maximum load capacity of 17 m³. Payload meanwhile is up to 2.1 tonnes (4,629 lbs), a class-leading figure made possible by various structural reinforcements. Alternatively, the chassis cab version is available in five lengths.
Another important improvement for operators concerns the engines, which are all Euro 5+ compliant and more efficient than before:
UK prices for the revised Ducato have yet to be announced.
In North America, it will continue to be marketed as the Ram ProMaster.
