Kymco preparing to launch the CK1 125

Next month will see the arrival of the Kymco CK1 125 naked motorcycle in the UK.

The Taiwanese brand’s latest offering has been designed to appeal to younger riders. Built around a steel tubular frame, it features a single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine that’s paired with a five-speed gearbox.

An output of 10.3 bhp (7.7 kW / 10.5 PS) is sufficient for a top speed of 65 mph (105 km/h), while average fuel economy is a claimed 120 mpg (2.4 l/100km).

Available in a choice of Oyster Gold Metallic or Bright Green Metallic paintwork, the CK1 125 has a retail price of £1,999. That means £2,071 on the road, after the obligatory first registration fee and twelve months’ vehicle tax have been added.

To give some context, the Yamaha YBR125 and Honda CBF125 both cost over £500 more. So the Kymco is considerably cheaper, but how it will depreciate is of course an unknown quantity.
