London Congestion Charge increasing
From the 16th of June 2014, drivers venturing into central London will have to pay more for the Congestion Charge.
An increase of £1.50 means the daily fee is set to rise to £11.50. There’ll still be a £1 discount if the CC Auto Pay scheme is used, but leave it until the next day to settle up and the cost is going to be £14 instead of £12 currently.
The annual CC Auto Pay registration charge is staying at £10 per vehicle.
Transport for London has also announced some other Congestion Charge changes that it is planning to implement in late 2015.
These include the introduction of a Direct Debit billing option for CC Auto Pay customers and a facility for those who have paid in advance to change their travel date (although the latter is due to cost £2.50). Furthermore, eligible journeys by NHS staff and patients will be reimbursable regardless of the payment method chosen.
