Mansory modifies the G 63 AMG 6x6

In standard form the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6 is already pretty outrageous. However, there must be a few prospective purchasers who think it isn’t extravagant enough, because Bavarian tuner Mansory has just launched a customisation programme for the behemoth.

A selection of exterior alterations - involving plenty of carbon fibre - includes replacements for the bonnet, grille and headlights. The interior doesn’t escape either. It can be tarted up with various Alcantara and leather upholsteries together with a range of wood or carbon trims.

Much more significant are the tweaks to the 5.5 litre V8 biturbo engine. Usually it produces a very healthy 536 bhp (400 kW / 544 PS) with 760 Nm (560 lb/ft) of torque, but clearly that won’t be sufficient for Mansory’s clients.

Thanks to a comprehensive overhaul of the internals and a bespoke exhaust system, output has been increased by over 50% to a staggering 829 bhp (618 kW / 840 PS). Peak torque meanwhile has had to be electronically limited to 1,000 Nm (737 lb/ft).

Mansory hasn’t released any performance figures, though. And as for fuel efficiency and emissions, it’s hard to imagine customers having any interest in them whatsoever.
