2015 Formula One calendar announced

With the addition of Mexico to its schedule, the 2015 Formula One World Championship is set to consist of twenty rounds.

The new event will be run at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. This circuit, which is in Mexico City, last hosted a grand prix in 1992.

Squeezing in an extra race means that the season finale in Abu Dhabi has had to be pushed back to the last weekend in November. The rest of the calendar looks almost identical to 2014’s, although the German Grand Prix moves from Hockenheim to the Nürburgring as per the customary alternating arrangement.

As well as deciding the 2015 timetable, the recent meeting of the FIA World Motor Sport Council also agreed that the FIA Administration should review the basis upon which super licences are issued. A proposal is expected before the end of this year, with the intention that any changes are implemented during 2016.
