BMW M6 GT3 price confirmed

Customer racing teams will be able to place orders for the new M6 GT3 from the middle of next month, BMW Motorsport has announced.

In Europe each is going to cost €379,000, which is around £264,800 at current exchange rates. Prices for North American markets have yet to be revealed.

Just as importantly, the M6 GT3 should be cheaper to run than the car it replaces, the Z4 GT3. For example, BMW reckons spare parts are set to offer better value for money, plus the 577 bhp (430 kW / 585 PS) 4.4 litre V8 powertrain will yield operating savings of up to 30 per cent.

Commenting on the project’s progress, BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt said: “We remain completely on schedule with the development of our new figurehead on the GT racing scene. The basic work of the past few months is now followed by a period of fine-tuning. After all, our approach is to provide our customers with a competitive car from the word go.”

The undisguised M6 GT3 is due to make its public debut at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in September.
