Two 2016 Colorado special editions revealed
Chevrolet has announced that the new Colorado Z71 Trail Boss and Midnight Edition are due to arrive at dealers later this year.
Like its predecessor, the 2016 Z71 Trail Boss is aimed at off-road users. The package’s key feature is a set of black 17” wheels shod with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTec all-terrain tyres. Also fitted are extended arches, tubular side steps, a spray-on bedliner and a sport bar with LED lights.
The Midnight Edition, which is based on the existing LT trim grade, provides a blacked-out look. This familiar theme sees the 18” wheels, front grille, bowtie badges and soft tonneau cover all gain a black finish. Naturally, black is the only paintwork option.
Both special models are being offered in extended cab and crew cab guises. The usual powertrain line-up applies, so customers are going to have a choice of 2.8 litre Duramax turbo diesel, 2.5 litre I4 gasoline or 3.6 litre V6 gasoline engines. They’ll also get to specify either two- or four-wheel drive.
Prices have yet to be announced.
