The Alaskan Concept heralds a Renault pick-up
Renault is preparing to enter the competitive European one-tonne pick-up market. Its Alaskan Concept, which will be unveiled at the upcoming Frankfurt International Motor Show, offers a foretaste of a production model that's due to arrive during the first half of 2016.
Intended to attract both business and leisure users, the Alaskan Concept features a five-seat crew cab and a four-cylinder, twin-turbo diesel engine. Renault is promising a broad selection of body configurations and powertrains for the showroom version, though.
The Alaskan's dimensions and proportions might appear to be rather familiar. That's because much of its architecture is shared with the just-launched NP300 Navara from Nissan, Renault's Alliance partner.
